Marqués de Riscal, recognized as the World’s Best Vineyard 2024 by the World’s Best Vineyards awards, has released the new vintage of Frank Gehry Selection.
Frank Gehry Selection 2022 is a deep cherry-colored wine, nearly opaque, with a complex nose and a well-structured palate. It has a long and lingering finish, where subtle toasted notes from ageing in French oak barrels can be perceived.
Made primarily from Tempranillo grapes, it also has a significant percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, a variety introduced to Rioja inthe 19th century by Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga, Marqués de Riscal. The vines used today by the winery derive from those original 19th-century Cabernet Sauvignon plants, brought from Bordeaux, making this a truly unique characteristic of our wines.
An exceptional wine named after this renowned architect, winner of the Pritzker Prize in 1989 and the visionary behind the avant-garde design ofthe Hotel Marqués de Riscal, a Luxury Collection Hotel.
